This course features streams, hardwood forests, rock outcroppings

Twin Lakes Golf Course
This short course was built on rolling terrain. It has
well-maintained greens with very fast, and narrow, tree-lined
fairways. The signature hold is #6; a 135-yard par 3 with a tee shot
over a pond to a wall-bunkered multi-tiered green. Designed by John
Williams, open year-round.

The Club is located within a private residential community, and
offers 27 Championship holes designed by Jack Nicklaus. The

Chapel Hill Country Club

This extremely scenic course is a good test for all skill levels.
However, the fairways are fairly open and the greens are large.
Water hazards (ponds and creeks) come into play on eight holes. The
signature hold is #14; a 399-yard par 4 requiring a blind shot, then
a downhill approach shot to a small green that is guarded in front
by a pond. Designed by Gene Hamm, open year-round.

Duke University Golf
CLUB
Robert Trent Jones routed the course by cutting it out of Duke
Forest, therefore just about every hold is bordered by wonderful
woods replete with towering trees. Reese Jones must have kept the
original routing, however, he blew up the tee boxes and green
complexes and the result is nothing short of stunning. The targets
are wonderfully defined and some of the hold are breathtaking. Open
year-round.

This course is in excellent condition. The fast greens are
undulating and well manicured. There are water hazards that come
into play on nine holes. There are also a few dogleg fairways adding

Lake Winds is ideal for the mid-handicapped golfer, with thirteen
lakes and ponds coming into play on its mountain-style layout.

stream running through it, then an approach shot to a medium sized

Woodlake Resort and Golf
Club
Woven carefully into the fabric of the Woodlake community is a golf
course reputed to be one of the most challenging in the Southeast.
One of two Woodlake courses, (the other was designed by Arnold
Palmer) this spectacular course, designed by the last Ellis Maples
and Ed Seay offers a USGA rating of 73.4. As testimony to the
excellent condition and championship layout, Woodlake has hosted the

Longleaf Golf Club
Before Dan Maples transformed it into one of the area’s most popular
and playable courses, the site had been a training facility for some
of America’s top thoroughbreds. As a tribute, Dan incorporated into
this quality design, elements from the original estate, including
part of the old training track. The course features both a subtly
rolling Scottish-style front nine and dramatic elevation changes on
the wooded back nine. Golf Digest deemed Longleaf as “The most
playable course in the Pinehurst area.”
